Hello Ya'll. I'm grandpatim and I'm a new member from Brownfield Texas. My wife and I just bought ourselves our first Harley last week. We bought a 2001 Ultra Classic. We're former Goldwing riders but we have been bikeless since May of 2007 when we had a serious accident that totaled our bike, injured my wife and nearly killed me. We always wanted to get back on but were unable to until recently. The test ride on the Harley was the first time I had been back on one since the accident. We mainly like to tour and go to rally's that are in our region. Usually the ones in Ruidoso New Mexico. We also have a trailer that we pulled behind our Goldwing and did a lot of motorcycle camping. I plan on getting a hitch for the Harley so we can start doing that again. Captain Itch invited me to join the forum. We are both members on another forum that I posted on about getting a Harley and he contacted me about this forum. I guess I'll get know know all of you over the next few months so hello all. By the way my wife's name is Patti and I'm Tim. We're both in our early fifties (Patti just turned fifty on Wednesday) and are empty nesters. I'm probably gonna have lots of question because I plan on doing most of the wrenching on my bike. I did most of it on my Goldwing so I'm hoping the Harley may be a little easier.
