My name is Ron, I'm 48, and I extend greetings from wet / rainy Cleveland. 22+" of rain since April 1, and its raining now ..... but who's counting. My garrage is a quite nice place to escape to so its not all that bad. While I couldn't afford bikes as a kid, I used to ride a friends KZ on the weekends. Had bought a Sporster when I was a Sr in HS but changed my mind at the last min; decided to go to school instead and I needed the $ for that.
Bought a stock, used 99 FSXTC about 9 years ago. Attached is a pic of it last year. I made some changes over last winter that I have not captured with the camera yet. The paint scheme is stock (if anybody knows the yellow code let me know. Its NOT Nugget Yellow) and I have never seen another Softail with the same. There is not much "stock" left and just about everything you can chrome is. Here are some of gidy-up changes:
S&S Big Bore / Stroke
W8 Cam (Woods)
H4 Race Ignition
Jim's Roller Rockers
SE Heads w/updated springs, ported
V&H Pro-Pipe 2:1
24T Front Sprocket
Most of the work I did myself and learned on the fly. Seems once you finish one project you start thinking about the next one. Last winter I changed the bars, went with PM controls, internal throttle, internal wires and hydrolics. Clean as a spanked baby's bottom but it was a project to get it all to fit up and work.
Look forward to chatting as time permits. I'm out of the country for weeks at a time and don't get on the PC much.
