bad mileage

I have a 2000 ultra classic. I just upgraded cams and put in a Baker 6 speed. My mileage is 27 mpg with a power commander race tuner. Any ideas how to get better mileage?

New Tuner maybe but a person to tune your bike yes for sure. 27 mpg is crazy .... you would have to run the heck out of that bike to get that bad. Throddle it allow.

I just picked up an 07 Street Glide with V&H pipes and PCV. I thought my 37 mpg was rediculous. I was wondering the same question as you. I did a google search and found a couple explanations. One explanation was that the tune dumped extra fuel to make it run cooler. Unsure if this is true or not. I would find your local tuner/dyno and have them check it out.

What was your mileage prior to the changes? Did you do any headwork?
