New guy in Milwaukee
Hi, my name is Mike, I'm 20 years old, and I'm in the Milwaukee area. My dad has a Harley and despite practically growing up in the sidecar I'm not into Harleys. Since this is such a large forum I'm sure I'll find plenty of tech info here for any parts I'm looking for for my current project and planned bobber build. Here is my current project and some quick info about it.
1974 Honda CL360 frame
1983 GS750 engine (the 16 valve version)
a pair of VM34 carbs
XS650 front hub with a 320mm rotor and 4pot Brembo caliper
CRF450 rear brake setup
CBR600 F2 front forks
FZR600 swingarm
and a whole lot more custom parts in the works
Some quick specs of the bike....
~350# wet weight when completed (estimated)
~80hp
BT-023 tires (110 front/160 rear)
25* rake
4.5" trail
54.75" wheelbase
31" seat height
Here is the bike before I started the motor swap. I was almost done and then decided 30hp wasn't enough.
Here are some pictures since I started the motor swap. I figured it would be a good idea to start test fitting the engine with a spare frame.
To make that 160 tire work on the back I'm using an 18x4.5" 40 spoke Harley rim but I'm having trouble finding a hub that matches the look of the XS650 hub I have. I found this one on eBay but was out bid at literally the last second (stupid sniping bidders). Does anyone know who makes it or if another member might have one for sale?
