I have a 06 Street Glide and have recently moved to California. Since I moved here I have been having fuel problems. Another rider told me that it was probly the fuel injection set at the altitatude that I was living before. I thought that the bike would reset itself.....so for instants if I was on a long trip! Maybe it just shittie gas....LOL!
If there is a dramatic difference in altitude from where you lived before and where you live now then you'll need to have your bike remapped. Take it to a dealer and they'll hook you up or even some indy shops can get you going. This is one of the reasons that my bike is carbed, and I wouldn't even consider a EFI bike. Welcome aboard from Maryland
Isn't there something with the fuel in CA? They added MTBE (methyl tert butyl ether) in the past, but supposedly phased it out. Now I heard they add ethanol or something similar in its place trying to make CA fuel cleaner burning than the rest of the US. As a result of the CA pipe dream of clean energy, they make things worse on the end user with lower mileage and performance.
Someone else recently posted about how a 103 rented in CA ran so much worse with lower fuel mileage than a 103 rented in TN.
Altitude could have something to do with it, but, I always thought that EFI was supposed to be able to adjust for that automatically which was always the pitch when carbs were still available.
