Hi, every one. Recently puchased a 2012 Superglide Custom. Its my first bike for about 20 years and first ever new bike. A bit scary at first with the machine being so heavy but I've setlled down now and loving driving it. Just need some good weather here in the UK.
I have a couple of queries and hope for a bit of advice. The brakes are bedded in now but are still not very sharp, a bit scary really if a quick stop is required. Also the front brake is noisey on application, as if there was paper in the spokes type noise. My Harley dealer says it's the holes in the dics which is causing the noise and that's normal. I'm not convinced!!!
Number two concern, when cornering left or right I get a whinning noise and slight vibration through the bike and handbars, more noticable most at 30-40 mph. Going straight its perfect. My dealer reports its the Michelin Scorcher 31inch tyres the bike has fitted and again I have to live with it.
Has anybody any info or suggestions about the two problems I have. I'd appreciate any advice, many thanks Brian.
Ditto on using the dyna area of the forum. If no answers there, try the tech section. (short cut below) And welcome from sunny New Mexico I'll try to send you some blue sky if you'll send us some rain...

Hi Brian, welcome, great bike choice!
As for your front end vibes, yes, it is the michelin scorcher, and it is common since HD started using the Michelin Scorchers. I had this exact same issue on my 2010 FXDC.
Short story is, i had the dealer change it under warranty (still dont know how I convinced them to do it) to a dunlop (402 i think it was) vibes decreased significantly, I am now running an AVON Cobra, and have zero vibes or whining noises.
