Hi All. I bought a 2005 Ultra Classic on a Friday night. The following Friday I went in for my 1000 mile service. A week later I had 2150 miles on my bike. Riding to work on fathers day, I was unlucky enough to have a deer jump the concrete divider on the interstate and hit me at 75 miles an hour. Wow! Not too bad... broken collar bone, 4 broken ribs, and a week later found out that my spleen was ruptured so they took it out. Waiting on my bike to be repaired, the dealer said maybe by the weekend. Anyway, love my Ultra and can't wait to get my elbows in the wind. Found this site while recuperating. Think it's great. Now I'm thinking of getting the removable tour pac brackets and antenna mounts to use with a solo seat. Really like the look of some of the bikes I've seen on this site. My wife is scared to death of bikes so I mostly ride alone anyway. Between her and my folks, I'm really takin a beatin over my bike. Anyway, thanks for a great and informative site. Hope to be here for quite a while....trebin
Welcome to the forum trebin, post a pic when you get it back, That sure is a bummer what happned to you, must have scared the crap out of you when it happned.
Welcome to the forum, I have hit a couple of deer in cars, but thank god not on a bike. After seeing the damage one did to my 66 chevelle, I believe you are very fortunate. I have thought about those small electronic Deer alerts for my car, wonder if they will work on a bike.
Wow, I'm glad things are not worse...when you decide to go riding, you really go riding, don't you? Hope you get back in the saddle soon, in the mean time, hang out with us and plan your next mod!
Howdy Trebin, welcome to the forum. Personally, I think that you were pretty lucky, it could have been worse. Glad to hear that you are going to jump right back on and give it another try. This time, watch out for the deer, OK.
I have a gardian angel for sure. Will post pics as soon as I get the bike back. Frame came in Monday so hopefully by the weekend. Told dealer to take his time as I don't want any breakdowns in the middle of nowhere because of a wiring problem or anything like that. Really like my dealer because he doesn't add to the retail price of his bikes. He's now got some 2006 bikes on the floor for sale. No waiting list.....Retail price....Great people..Can't see how it can get any better than that! Thanks for all the replys....just reconfirms what I thought about this site being so helpful and informative!!!
