raising the ground clearance on my heritage

Default raising the ground clearance on my heritage
I know it's a strange question. But I have adjusted my shocks to the max and I am grinding the foot boards the frame and even the silencer on bends. The fact is , it does not handle. Ok , you can tell me to ride another make. But I love this bike. Is it too much to ask, to be able to go around a corner at reasonable speed. Is there any way to raise this bike without resorting to fitting longer fork tubes. ? I do shift my weight over the side like a racer. It's ok but looks silly at such low speeds. I live in the UK and the only people who ever built straight roads here were the Romans. I was wondering about tyre choice etc.

I put Heavy Duty Progressives on the back 1/2 longer than stock and 4" over fork tubes. Whole new bike. Looks better and WAY more fun to ride. No bottoming or scraping.
