I'm here 'because I like the same kinds of random road trips some bike riders do. Motorcycles are out for me any more due to a bad back and old injuries.
Road trips here include camping, cruising the highways, pilgrimages or missions to find certain kinds of places, avoid being too serious about schedules and planning, and are done with a 6x6 military truck. It's a hobby, keeps me out of trouble. I'd have a HD but why if I can't enjoy it and do what I want?
Most folks that own these ugly green trucks don't go on long road trips and when they do, routes and times tend to get scheduled to much in stone.
That's not for me. Over the years and 18K highway miles in them I found out I have some of the same concerns and interests as the packs of bikes that pass me on the road. Sometimes from day to day, the same bikes pass. Haha I know I am getting up earlier and driving more hours for the same distance. Then they pass each day at some time for 2-3 days. So that's it. Probably lurk around here for the most part. Anyone else mess with military vehicles on the side?
