Done lurking, time to say "Hi".. I am a 56yo retired Navy vet. Fell in love with the sound and sight of a Harley when I was 13. Bought an 88 Sportster about 18 months back and let it sit in the basement for 6 months. Finally got off my butt and took a MSF safety class and got my license. Started commuting to work and it died, charging system was ate up, literally, magnet pieces and smoked stator. To make a long story short, found the parts and fixed it, finished out the summer riding and found an 01 Heritage that I could not pass up. Loved riding the Sporty but the Heritage is like riding in a Caddy compared to my pick-up. Live in southern Maryland(western shore) so my season is over. Looking forward to warmer weather and finding a riding buddy. The sporty is for sale if anybody is interested.
