Hi all, I am 59 years old this year and I've started my bucket list of what I would like to do before.....I've always had it the the back of my mind that I'd like to have a bike someday....and I research the hound out of anything and everything before jumping into it; probably why the someday is a moving target.
I've never owned a bike, I did ride my brothers Honda 550 around the block 40 years ago, I don't think I got the bike out of 3rd gear but I did get it back to the driveway without wrecking.
The reason I joined is to get peoples input on how I should go about starting this adventure at my age, being 6 ft. and 300 lbs. I really don't know where to start, however I do want to start with a Harley, American made, American pride, American craftsmanship. I also know that when I make the plunge I will be enrolling in the dealership riding classes and trying to learn as much as possible in order to be a safe responsible rider.
I really would appreciate any and all suggestions, shared wisdom, thoughts and recommendations.
Looking forward to hearing from everyone kind enough to respond.
Welcome from NH. I would definitely concur that a rider's class will be in order; I make that recommendation to any new rider. I look forward to having you share the rest of this adventure with us.
Welcome from Decatur GA. Is suggest a HD riders course to get your MC endorsement and then go to a HD dealer and demo all the models you like the looks of to see which fits you best.
