I am looking to buy a Harley within the next year or so but I have a question. I am tall, almost 6'8" to be exact. Are there any bikes i should stay away from? Any ones that are especially good for taller riders? I am really in love with the Night Train Softail and was wondering how that is for taller riders. I am already getting ready to rent a bike or two to make sure I am comfortable, etc, but I was just wondering if anyone here knows of ones I should look at or stay away from. Thanks!
Edit: ah, changed some wording around on my search and found a thread or two, sorry for the post that looks like has been asked a few times already! Feel free to reply if you want, Mods, feel free to delete or lock if you want.
That wouldn't be a very nice way to treat a new member, Welcome to the site and I'm glad you learned how the search feature works. It works well also. Why not rent the bike of your choice to see if it fits you.
Howdy, welcome to the forum. Wow, 6'8" I've never seen anybody around here that tall on a bike. I saw the bike that Jesse James made for Shaq, but they must grow them taller where you come from than around here. Good luck on finding a Harley that fits your needs.
gcubed, I'm 6'5" and fit even on small sportbikes so for me, there isn't a Harley to stay away from. Much of this will depend on how flexible you are. I've ridden most Harleys, put many miles on most Harleys, the Harley in stock form friendliest to taller riders is the Dyna Wide Glide. May want to take a look at this. However, just about any Harley can be customized with relocated controls to give you extra arm and leg room.
Welcome to the forum! I think you'll want to stay away from the Sportster

ha, so i have found out by reading. Yeah, i think my inital plan is to go out with the 2 or 3 bikes i really like and rent them to see how comfortable they are for me. Its good to know i can change the controls a bit to better suit me if I need to.
I'm not quite shaq's size, but again, if I was, i would have played basketball and been able to afford a custom made bike like him.
