I would like to replace the stock seat on my 07 SG with something a bit more comfortable. I have seen Harley's Sundowner and have sat on one as well. I have also heard that Mustang seats are very comfortable. Does anyone have any words of wisdom (experience) regarding choice? The Sundowner is cheaper and the stiching matches my s-bar, but is it comfortable? Is Mustang the better way to go for comfort or is there little difference? PS. Looks do count.
Welcome from Salem, Oregon - You will hear aboutseveral brands of seats on this forum, Mustang and Corbin seem to be the most popular...and most expensive and others on this forum are happy with the stock seats on their HD. I have had both brands, I started out with the Mustang and have moved on to the Corbin. Many people say that it takes a while to get used to the Corbin because it uses hard memory foam, I liked mine from the first time I sat on itseveral weeks ago. The longest ride that I have taken in recent weeks was about 180 miles and the Corbin seat was great. I thought the Mustang seats were comfortable too - kind of cushy, but after a few hundred miles I would get a few sore spots and have to reposition to get comfortable again. I guess the other reason that I switched to the Corbin was appearance, the seat hugs the bike better giving it a sleek appearance. The Mustang seat you see in my signature has a bulkier appearance. The Corbin seat that I recently bought (after reading many posts on the subject) is the Classic Solo (Mercedes Black, no Studs) with the Standard Backrest and I also bought the Passenger Touring Pillon for when my wife or daughter ride with me. Here's a link to Corbin's site for the 06'/07' Street Glide. Good luck with your hunt for the best seat. http://www.corbin.com/harley/flhx/hdflhx6s.shtml
