Will soon be first time motorcycle owner. Have always liked motorcycles but every time I brought up getting one the wife and family talked me out of it because they figured I'd get hurt on it. I'm 44 and I decided I'm gonna get one whether they like it or not. Funny thing happened this time I brought it up. No arguing at all. Actually just total opposite of past reactions. Wife even thinking about getting herself one of them new Can Am Spiders maybe.
I currently have a 81 Z28 Camaro that I have put about $9500 - $10,000 into so far and it is to the point now it needs to be tore apart and gone through in detail to make it right. I don't have a shop big enough to do that and I'm tired of it just sitting there gathering dust under a shed. I keep a cover on it too but still it's in the weather in my opinion. My plan is to sell it for $ or trade for a equal $ Harley. I'm currently in talks with a guy in Memphis with a very nice 2000 year model Dyna Low Rider with 38K miles on it. If all goes as planned, I'll be swapping with him in a couple weeks. If not I'll continue looking for one I like.
I have rode a couple of bikes before but not a lot. I am very limited on actual knowledge of them but I have a couple of friends that have Harley's. I've always had cars to fix up and play with. I'm looking forward to learning tips and stuff from you all.
