I have searched everywhere for a compatibility guide. What rims will interchange with an 07 Bob? Ive been told nothing but I find that hard to believe. Can anyone share solid evidence of interchangeable parts?
I'm assuming you're referring to OEM wheel interchangeability, not aftermarket.
With you having a 17x4.5" rear wheel, a Mid-Glide front wheel, and both with 1" ID x 21mm wide bearings...your "STRICT" interchangeability would be 2006-07 Dyna (except FXDWG front 21"...too wide of hub).
You can make 08-later FXD Dyna wheels work with bearing or axle plus spacer change, (for reference, know that they did change the bearing bore depths).
You can make 2000-later Narrow-Glide Front wheels from dyna/sportster work with appropriate changes.
On the Rear, a lot of 16x3" wheels will interchange easily, but max recommended tire is a 150 although some people are running 160's. Additionally some people are putting 17x4.5" Deuce or 16x5" FXDF Fat Bob wheels on the rear.
Just trying to give you something to think about without the nitty-gritty details.
What are you trying to do?...get rid of some laced spoke wheels
That is the best information I have seen and I appreciate you posting it. Im looking to upgrade to 21" in front and maybe black rim, chrome lace/hub front and back. Problem I was having is searching classifieds, auctions, ....wherever.... nobody, including me, knows exactly what is interchangeable so you get low search results using specific terms like dyna or streetbob. Im trying to expand my options.
Best way to get a 21" on the front of a mid glide Dyna is to buy a rim and lace it to your existing hub. There's a couple different ways to go about it.
