Question Using anti-seize on front axle re-install

Hello, i am concerned about using antiseize when reinstalling front axle. The concern being the axle will rotate inside the inner bearing race, instead of rotating the bearing. I noticed this because i used to service rotating machinery. Some bearings can be locked on the shaft to prevent this. Any Thoughts? Thanks.

They won't spin (unless you seize a bearing and even then you might spin the outer race in the bore anyway)

You have a solid stack-up that is under clamping pressure...feel free to use anti sieze

I've heard of this but if you have the pinch bolts and shaft nut torqued, I don't see how it could spin. I've always used a light coat of grease just cause I didn't have never seize. I assume the purpose is to keep the shaft from corroding and not being able to remove it.

if you have the pinch bolts and shaft nut torqued, I don't see how it could spin .... If your axle is "spinning" something isn't fastened/torqued properly. ALWAYS coat your axle to keep corrosion to a minimum. It's not fun having to "drive" it out of the bearings.

I use a conventional grease, which has seen me through 50 years of round-year bike riding. I currently use a JCB grease, as in the bright yellow diggers, which is water-resistant and jolly good. In any event, whatever you use (don't use nothing!) things cannot rotate, as explained above, unless there is a catastrophic failure - you'll probably be on your ear by the time you discover that!
