Default 07 superglide wheels

Hi everyone,

I have been lurking for a while, soaking in info etc, im sure this will be the first post of many, i wont lie i dont tend to say much until i get really stuck but just know i am always watching...

SO, I have a 2016 street bob (another one of those clubstyle idiots) and I have aquired a set of 07 super glide wheels.

Can you tell me, what i need to make them fit so that i can keep my ABS, I have been told everything from they bolt right up, you cant fit ABS and they wont fit....

massive thanks in advance!

Well, you didn't soak up a "Dyna" section thread (6 days ago) that had almost all your info need (except for using (2) ABS bearings)

Read this and substitute (2) ABS bearings ((1) ea at the "primary bearing" location (Front-Left, Rear-Right))

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...-a-2010-a.html

Ask if any more questions

Haha I did actually read that one but the ABS bit threw me off!!

so just to check

25mm bearings will go right into these wheels. (Are they the same bearings that are currently in my standard laced street bob wheels?) along with the centre sleeves from any 08 and up wheel? (I could re use what is in my current wheels?)

do do I still need the shims? With abs? And i was told I'd need spacers making up this is obviously wrong?

sorry for so many questions but thank you heaps for you time and answers

once i pop the bearings in

25mm bearings will go right into these wheels. YES, same OD (Are they the same bearings that are currently in my standard laced street bob wheels?) YES along with the centre sleeves from any 08 and up wheel? YES, 08-up DYNA (front & rear respectively) (I could re use what is in my current wheels?) YES

do do I still need the shims? YES, because you're putting thinner 15mm/(18mm ABS) bearing into a wheel designed for the wider 21mm bearing With abs? YES And i was told I'd need spacers making up this is obviously wrong? USE all your existing 2016 Spacers

sorry for so many questions but thank you heaps for you time and answers

once i pop the bearings in
*Place Bearing shim in brake rotor side of hub (front and rear) aka "primary bearing" side.
*Press ABS bearing tightly against shim
*Insert center spacer sleeve
(front & rear respectively)
*Press 2nd bearing in until inner race just contacts sleeve

Good Luck

.

You sir are a hero!!

the bearing Shims are the same part # as in the other thread?

also one last question I promise. Do I need to do anything for the brake caliber? Or just buy the correct one for the wheels and it will fit

No change to caliper needed, but you did get the Rotor with those 07 "Mag" wheels?

Make sure the Front Rotor is for those "Spoke Mounted" Mags (Switchblades). The Rear is not unique.

I haven't seen a pic from you. I'm assuming the "07 superglide wheels" are "Switchblade" Mags

Yeah, "Switchblades"... always liked them. Too bad (my perspective) they aren't dual disc.

As I hope you can see, the front rotor is somewhat unique. Not interchangeable with your SBob "Hub" Mounted rotor(s)
