I have a 2003 FXDWG and I bought a used rear 16 inch Thunderstar wheel to replace the stock spoke wheel that had gone bad. The first problem I found was that the bearings didnt seem to seat completely into the hub they way they did on my old wheel, then I noticed my old center spacer was to short. I measured the difference and my stock wheel hub width is 6 3/4" and the thunderstar is 7 1/4". I realize this wont work on my bike now, I just need to find out what it fits so I dont screw someone else over the way I got screwed when i bought it.
In summary, it's really fits any 08-later Softail that came Originally Equipped with a 16 x 3" Rear wheel
You can use this wheel as a "Fitment" reference ... different wheel, but same fitment (HD has stopped selling the Thunderstar) 16 x 3 Machete Rear Wheel

Thanks for the help. I took the rear mag off my 01 sportster for now but I miss riding my sportster so I'm still looking for a wheel. I just dont want a spoke after the old one going bad on me. Death wobble at 85 wasn't fun!
No. I worked for years installing motorcycle tires. I swapped my tire, pulley and rotor from my wide glide onto the sportster wheel. Its the solid XL1200C wheel.
