Default Is this normal?

Top of the morning my dudes.

I have a 2019 SGS with stock Dunflop tires and 4500 miles on the clock. I noticed few things recently. First...when I ride alone on a smooth surface and when I weave side to side, I hear a wowowowowowowoww sound coming from the rear. It's hard to explain, but it sounds like a Jeep Wrangler when I weave like that. Second, when riding with my wife, I hear that noise from the back even if I go straight. Finally, I also noticed that at times, my front handlebars "shimmy" when I go about 30-35 miles per hour. What I mean by that is, they are not smooth, but move side to side. This is not consistent, but I do notice when it happens. I ruin my PSI per recommendation of the dealer when the bike was bought, I believe it is 40 in the back.

Would this be a tires issue? I checked them and they look fine to me. But, knowing how important tires are, maybe I should replace them with something better? Did anyone experience same symptoms?

Thanks for your help!

Your tires are cupping and it's hard to see unless you look down on the tires over the sides at the proper angle and you will notice the edges are raising. I replaced mine at 8800 that's they got too noisy

Yep. Tires. Rear tire specifically. Not apparent on front tire. I believe this is referred to as cupping. We called it feathering when I was a tire buster at Sears two lifetimes ago in school.

My FLHX started the same way after I bought it last rear. See wear pattern in pic below. That’s probably 9k miles. I’m at 10K, still with 5/32nds, but tired of listening to it so I’m replacing it tomorrow.

Could be tires, but also check your belt tension, too tight of a belt will cause a wow wow noise. Check tension when belt it cold IAW Service manual.

Thanks guys! Appreciate the fast response. Glad I bought the service manual! All I need is a tool to measure the belt tension.
