In regards to white wall tires, I was interested in running the Wide White Wall (WWW) tires on my 2011 Ultra. I was curious why Dunlop doesn't offer a WWW tire in the 130/80B17 size in the American Elite Bias Front tire? The 17" front/16" rear is a very popular tire size in the HD touring line-up. It seemed strange to me that they offer a WWW tire in the rear (American Elite 180/65B16), but do not offer the appropriately sized tire in a WWW for the front. I asked Dunlop about this.
Here is their response:
The WWW replacement tires are made to replace tire sizes that Harley Davidson had us originally manufacture for OE tires. If Harley Davidson did not have the WWW tire size manufactured in a OE fitment we would not offer it in a replacement.
There you go. Maybe Clownders can offer us his words of wisdom
Was always skeptical about going with Shinko's. Have yours held up, and what did you put them on?
Probably have maybe 500 miles on it but it balanced out fine and rides great. It's mounted on a 21x3.5 52 spoke chrome wheel from Mototeks. My bike's a 99 RKC so I had to do the bearing conversion.
I've run Shinko's on some of my vintage bikes for years with no issues.
