I always have done my own tire changes except for mounting and balancing. I got a guy for that. But for laughs I figured I'd get a quote from the Harley dealer nearest to me. I got quoted for two different tires. Dunlop Elites and Metzler Cruisetecs. Both were within 100 bucks of each other. I laughed when I read the quote. The labor isnt the issue.. The cost for the tires is insane. Why would anyone have them do it? Needless to say , I'll do it myself.
That price is nuts, I had a set of Commander 3s fitted 2 weeks ago & they were $880 Australian dollars with valves etc, at todays forex thats $619 US dollars.
I’ll ask my original question a little differently. I currently have Avon Cobras front and rear and really only need the rear replaced. What would be a replacement for the rear that is comparable to the Avons (as they are near impossible to find) or is tread and/or performance matching not a big issue?
