I didnt notice a difference from a Fatboy to a Road King. The wind moved me around the same.

Obviously, the solid wheels on a Fat Boy would not be affected by a crosswind any more than any other wheel. It's ridiculous what some people will believe.

The rider is the "sail" that catches a cross wind since the rider is the highest point above the bikes center of gravity. After going to enough bike nites and seeing the size of some of the riders (ie:size XXXXL tsirts) the wind resistance created by the rider is greater than any created by the small surface of the wheels. The wheel phenomenon would only come into play if you were a midget riding a Fatboy.

Never had a problem on mine. IMO this myth ranks right up there with people who claim to get better gas mileage out ofa pickup with the tailgate down.

I have a 2004 fatboy and have not noticed much in the way of wind. I had an 04
sportster and tell everybody to ride it if they want to know about wind and getting
blew around.

The wheels don't become a problem until there is a 65 MPH cross wind. Then its just hard to keep them on the black top.
