Wheel Fitment
Looking around for some different wheels for my 01 Deuce FXSTDI. I see lots of them for 99 and earlier , is this just a different size wheel bearing or is there some thing else different? If it's just bearing size can the correct ones be installed in the early wheels ? The rear wheel is 17" can a 16" be used without much issue? Would this mess with the speedo ? I know lots of questions.

Your bike is unusual in the Harley range in using that size of wheel, so there is probably not a Harley wheel that will fit. Much later models use a 6" wide 17" rim, while yours is a 4.5" wide 17". Contact one of the HDF sponsors who sell wheels, to see what they can offer.

Well unusual pretty much sums up the rear of the FXSTDI , Harley does offer a couple 3 wheel choices, just wondering if a 16 X 4.5 would fit , see some now and then on ebay. Maybe even the added benefit of lowering it a little.
