Default Wheel bearing question

Installing new wheel bearings in some mags I picked up.

On one side of the front wheel I can pull the bearing out by hand, if I get it just right. It just slips in, however, it is very close, you have to have the bearing perfectly straight and it slides in. The outer race does not spin once it's in.

Is this OK?

that seems pretty loose. does the bore of the wheel look scared up? i would be concerned about the bearing spinning inside of the wheel bore. maybe take some measurements of the bore size and the bearing and see what is allowable. most of the time that bearing has to be pressed in.

I talked to a couple machinists at work, they recommended using the Loctite 680 GREEN. They said it is used to secure bearings in place. The only negative, it would require heat to be removed.

Another option would be a .0005 shim stock.

No it isn't OK! It is highly likely the entire bearing will turn in the hub while riding, IMHO. The green Loctite is the only 'repair' I personally would try, otherwise replace with another wheel (and destroy that one!).

This is correct, we used it to mount sleeve bearings to shafts. There was also a primer that was used to clean and activate. Most likely the ***** will probably fall out before the race would spin.
