Hogtunes Amp ?
Just curious if I can a Hogtunes or other amp in addition to the Hogtunes speakers FRONT only. Not going to add any rears right now on my tour pak. Perhaps next season or at the mid point of this upcoming season. Planning to install the Hogtunes speakers in a few weeks or so.
Thanks

Many thanks and ride safe,
basically the lower volume the head unit is puting out the cleaner the sound will be coming from it. stereos with internal amps have to use power to run speakers, using that power takesaway from supplying power to its internal parts, high end stereos (competition style) dont have internal amps at all, they can only be used with external amps. and mid range stereos have a menu option to turn the internal amp off and run external only.
in theoery , yes an amp just makes your stereo louder, but it makes it louder where it counts, and saves the strain on the head unit.
and nobody ever wants to strain their "head unit"
I have the Hog Tunes amp on My bike with front speakers only. This is the way Pez told Me.The amp powers the front speakers even if you have four speakers. The amp gives you the power your stock unit can't supply with better mid range where you need it.It is a snap to install sense you'll have the fairing off to install the speakers anyway. It takes about 10 more minutes to add the amp.I highly recommend the amp for (I think) another $180.00.

Thanks for the info. I will have to try to get up with Pez. I've emailed them several times with absolutely no response. I ended up buying my Hogtunes on ebay for $89. Now I'll need the amp and RG adapter. If I can't get with them again, I'll end up hunting one on ebay or through another supplier.
Have you tried to call Pez at His office?Thay have allways answered when I call.
I had hogtunes speakers and amp --- but i wanted more sound--went with mb quart speakers in the fairing, kenwood 6x9s in the saddlebags, and a MTX 300 watt 4 channel amp. I got the sound I wanted.
