The crankcase should require 2.5 to 3 quarts of oil when changing the filter. The reason for an unspecific number is because there is some fluid still left in the crankcase such as the lines, heads, cooler if installed, and other little places in there. You can never get all the oil out on a service. The manual is important, but the reading on the dipstick is even more important.

The transmission usually takes about a quart. Just check when you are finished...once again, you can never get all the fluid out during a service.

The primary usually take about a quart as well. It can take anywhere from 22oz to one quart. On my Dyna's, one quart always fills it up just about right.

06 Dynas have VERY Specific capacities.....

The Trans is 32 oz... PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!

The Primary is 32 oz..... PERIOD!!!!!!!

Anyone that gives you info other than those capacities is mistaken, and probably has an 05 or earlier version....

They are not the same.... 06 has the COMPLETELY NEW DRIVELINE (Primary and Transmission)......
