Redwood Rally 2017: Adam Sandoval’s ‘Awesome’ Adventure

Check out the scene at one of the country’s wildest motorcycle meetups. Then, mark your calendars for next year’s event, June 8-10.

Want to see what a day at California’s famous Redwood Run rally is like? Join Harley-riding philanthropist and Kickstands Up star Adam Sandoval — the big-hearted dude who partnered with Harley-Davidson to give away bikes to military veterans through Mission: Thank You — as he gives us an up close and personal look at the enduring event in his latest YouTube video, The Redwood Run/Dream Rides.

The 40th Kiwanis Original Redwood Run 2017, which was held June 9-11, included live music, bike games, food vendors, an unofficial “titty” alley, and a wet t-shirt contest! The adults-only event was held at Riverview Ranch in the town of Piercy in Northern California.

After loading up his 2017 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Ultra, Sandoval and his four-legged sidekick, Scooter, head out from San Francisco to the redwoods of NorCal. “We end up finding a super rad rally on the way,” Sandoval says of Redwood Run in his video. “Along with a few pit stops, this is a fun dream ride! If you have never ridden this section of the country, it is a must-do bucket list trip.”

We’re treated to some beautiful shots of the West Coast as Sandoval rides north and it’s not long before the majestic trees of Redwood National Park come into view. “I always dreamt of these things as a kid,” Sandoval says. “I didn’t get to spend much time there, so I’m going to be camping out in the redwoods for about four days.”

After arriving at Redwood Run rally and setting up his tent, Sandoval (along with chick-magnet Scooter) head out among the event-goers in search of fun, food, and one-of-a-kind items from the craft vendors. Because Sandoval is a gentleman and this is an adults-only event — meaning lots of party-happy topless women — Sandoval’s video quickly jumps to the end of his first day at the event. “We already ran into so many great friends and people that we’ve been looking to connect with,” he says. “It’s an awesome rally.”

Kiwanis of the Redwoods was chartered in March of 1950 in Garberville, California. Their annual fundraisers and service projects include Redwood Run, Toys for Tots, and a Benbow Fourth of July food booth. The club also awards several scholarships to local high school graduates.

Redwood Run 2018 will be held June 8-10, 2018. Check the event’s Facebook page for more details as the event nears.
