I have a clacking noise I here almost every time I hit a bump, expansion joint, etc. I feel this clack in my right floorboard. I've looked for loose hardware, marks where something could be hitting all with negative results. I brought it to the dealer for the tech to take it for a ride but of course he didn't hear or feel nothing. For some strange reason, I hear and feel it more when everything is cold first thing in the morning. Oh, I forgot, it's a 2014 ultra classic.
Thanks you in advanced.
Same here, I'm not really sure what it is.. I've tightened the bolts that the floorboard flips up on and I think it's fixed it but I'm
Not 100% sure yet. My other thought is that it's the heat shield hitting the FB bracket.
I've experienced the too on my SGS. But now that you mention it, I'm going to check my heat shields as well to see if they are tight, this might be the answer.
Good, so it's not just mine. My 2007 Ultra didn't sound the same as my 2014 over bumps. I think the kickstand flops a bit on really hard bumps so maybe that's what I'm hearing.
My 14 sg does it and I think its the belt slapping actually. I rode a V rod on a dyno back when it was being calibrated and tuned before production and release. In 3rd gear low speeds the belt would slap hard. Mine sounds the exact same way so that what im chalking it up to. ive checked all the heat shields and floor boards ect... nothing is loose on mine. It usually either a hard bump and brake when i hear and feel it.
I would think if it was the kickstand or the belt, you would feel it more on the left floorboard, not the right. The dealership actually blamed my leg for being too sensitive since they know I had Achilles' tendon surgery on my right leg back in July.

My dealer just gave me a look when I asked about the same noise you all are describing.
I mentioned the kickstand, "Well it's got the rubber bumper on it, so it shouldn't be that loud or sound like metal to metal, and that makes sense.
