On the Low models, the cover is slimmer so the factory dremels out a pocket in the inner primary so you still have to buy 38 ounces of fluid to get the correct level.

Seriously, the service manual says 38 oz. for all models.

I believe that...

I don't have a '15 manual, and my '14 doesn't cover the lows, obviously.

I'm not understanding your post, are you saying Harley went out of their way ("dremels out a pocket in the inner primary") to make space in the primary so you have to put in the same 38 oz. as the non-Low models?

In my opinion, Harley went from 28 to 32 to 38 in their manuals trying to get more oil to the compensator inner bearing. (without drowning the clutch so bad and causing so much drag on the disks that it spins the transmission and creates the bang you here when the gear dogs drop in and stops the spinning. It's obvious as compared to the past recommended primary level, 38 ounces puts the level at the top of the diaphragm spring as you see in way back in post 6. However, in my opinion, that one actually probably has 64 ounces since it's at the top of the window. (the mechanic probably worked at Mickey D's 3 months ago)

Yup. that's what I have done with all my Harleys.

Yes. That extra 6 ounces times thousands of bikes got someone at the MOCO a fat bonus.

Just kidding, I don't really have any idea how/if the capacity is the same, just that the manual says it is.

So there are still several opinions here. I have always filled the primary how it is shown in pic #2 below. However, the diagram and pic #1 are saying that this is incorrect. According to the diagram I have been overfilling the primary this whole time. Is this a bad thing? Should I drain some out????

I assume that is Wlibert picture in two. He said his dealer filled his up like that. So, no use asking him. However, since you say you are personally filling yours up to that level, just how much are you putting in after you drain it?
