Default Need Advice on Shocks

Ok so I've searched and read everything I can find on here about shocks. And still I'm confused.

I have a 2014 street glide and I weigh 165 lbs and I ride solo all the time. The ride is so rough my back cannot take another trip.

Can someone point me in the right direction of which shock to try... Progressive, Ohlins, or premium hd? I've read that the lighter riders seem to have the most trouble with this. I just want a smoother more cushioned ride.

Give Howard a call. Ohlins are the best I've ever had. Can't wait for the new set.

Bought my Ohlins S36DR1L Mid Line shock for my 2014 FLHTK from Fuel Moto. The shocks came preset to riding style, total weight, etc. Easy install and set up. Great price, no drama. Bought my new Progressive High Performance performance front fork cartridge kit from Revzilla. Will have them mounted up by my mechanic. Great price as well.

I just put the Premium Ride adjustable shocks on My Limited because the Wisconsin winters have made "washboards" out of the roads. The air shocks would bottom and You felt like You were bounced to death. The premium ride shocks do not bottom and the ride is superior to any motorcycle that I have ever ridden.I have owned 6 Harleys. I weigh 160 and ride solo. The ride on Wisconsin roads is now tolerable.Almost comfortable, going over bumps and RR tracks..I am a believer!

I have JRIs and swear by them. Setup by MotorCycleMetal. Call Howard and get some Ohlins or JRIs. They are THAT much better then Progressive or HD, IMHO.

I can understand Harley's reasons for not adding a lot of bling..bling to these bikes. We like to add our own personal touch..so to speak and they like to sale this to us, I don't mind this.
I understand the power robbing exhaust and intake for EPA reasons, knowing most will spend another couple grand on theses things we want.
But I do not understand why they would put cheap shocks on a premium priced Cadillac of a bike, not cool, bad decision, it still pees me off over that extra expense. I have the Ohlins now, there like night and day over the air shocks. There not only more comfortable but the bike fells more stable and safer.

I agree 100000%. Once I put on the JRIs on back and upgraded the front with RaceTech setup, the bike came alive. So much more controlled and stable. A totally different bike.

If your refiring to adjusting the air pressure..of course, pretty elementary. Tried 15psi to 30 to 50 back to 15 then 0 and then didn't care anymore, just wanted them off the bike. After reading a lot about shocks, decided to go with the ohlins, not disappointed.
