Can anyone trump the dealers statements?
I can vouch for that, mine first kicked in when temps outside weren't over 50... I noticed the odometer screen said it was active. It DOES start rough when you try to go...it does kick the cylinder back on but not real fast. You kind of spitter a little for a second.. As a solution I would give it a blip before taking off if it is active, that resolved the issue. I have since turned it off altogether.

Thumbs up +1 for this

This is exactly what I have found since August 20 2013 when I fired mine up. Always been this way with the Rushmores.

So.......Warming up the bike longer than 4 minutes is no longer needed??

I always used to start the bike in the morning for about 5 minutes then leave.

Everything change on the wet heads?

I never thought about it the way safteyman put it, makes a lot of sense tho. a regular air compressor will get scolding hot in 10 minutes. I'm convinced its BS and disabling mine. When its hot its hot, with or without it active it feels the same to me. Just another aggravation when it kicks in and having to turn it off when the light changes

In my experience the EITMS, even though sounding awful when active, works very well. The compressor analogy isn't completely accurate. Shutting down the rear cylinder eliminates the firing spark plug and fuel burn and thereby eliminating a 3-4 hundred degree rear cylinder from the system, including the hot exhaust gases. I was stuck recently in stop and go traffic for 45 minutes during an accident in 95degree temps. The shutting down of the rear cylinder made the episode very manageable. The heat reduction is very noticeable.
