Default Outdoor Air Sensor? Worthless?

hey all I just got a 2015 streetglide special and I thought the outdoor air temp sensor worked decently. I just did a bar swap so I'm not sure if I bumped the sensor or if it sucks in general. It's cloudy and about 68 degrees here today and my gauge was say 78 to 79 degrees. Did I screw it up with the bar change or are they just inaccurate all together? Thx

If I understand your post, it worked fine, you did something, it no longer worked fine?

The new ones, at least all that I've seen, are reasonably accurate.

Have you ridden it to see, or sitting in the garage?

I was riding this afternoon and noticed it was reading 78 degrees and it not that warm out. I also swappedy bars out yesterday so I was not sure if I bumped something in the fairing that could have done something or if they are just inaccurate. It did seem accurate (I thought) before the bar swap

The sensor is mounted near the left fork, under the fairing....

Not sure if a pinched or loose wire would give an inaccurate reading or not.

Once moving mine seems pretty accurate. But it can take a mile or two if it's been sitting in the sun particularly if the engine's been running for any significant length of time.

Mine always seems to be dead on but I generally only look at it when I'm really cold or really hot and get curious about the temperature. Otherwise, its really not information that I can use or do anything to change.

The air temperature gauge is pretty accurate. Maybe just double check the sensor connection.
