OK - calling a spade a spade.. My 2014 Limited was $26939 plus 435 freight plus 750 prep plus 190 doc fee. I really cared less what his prices were - simply because I had a figure in mind as to how much I wanted to write the check for.
I made a great deal on the difference in my trade. I was happy - and that is all that matters. Could share my trade value and can prove it - but what does it matter. I was ready to buy or walk. my 2011 was just perfect.
Funny story, I asked my first dealer to accept my check for the price I wanted. Sales manager told me to go home - and not wait for the phone call. I went to another dealar -he met my terms. First stop - the old dealer and I told him...I did not wait.
I have had that exact scenario, move on the trade or move on msrp. Preferably move on msrp so you don't pay as much in sales tax.
It's really all a shell game. Had I paid cash, it would have been a real good deal in my mind. I needed to let of my '12 go, and they were book on the trade, and the sale. So I gave him the difference that I thought the bike was worth to me. He countered and I agreed. He moved a little on the trade and a little on the sale. I was up front, I don't need a bike, and you want to sell one. He didnt lose money on the deal and I feel like I was treated fairly. It still is all a game... It cost fun coupons to play and if you don't pay you can't play...
If I remember right I bought my 14 last Labor Day weekend when the dealer was having a big sale. I got about 3,400.00 off MSRP, plus they gave me Full Retail Trade in on my 2013 Super Glide Custom. (that was $3,500.00 right there)
I didn't do too bad.
But last weekend I still saw brand new 14 Limiteds at the dealer.....I thought by now they would all be gone. I am sure someone could get one for a good price.

My dealer also has at least two 2014 Limiteds in the amber whiskey colors. One with silver and the other withe black. He said they were the most unpopular colors for the Rushmore bikes.
