Upgrade questions
-I want to upgrade exhaust to Rinehart Slims and 4" slip ons. Best price I can find is $1060 for parts only. Any better pricing out there?
- Dealer wants $255 to install, another $300 to dyno and tune. I can install myself, would it be cheaper/better to buy an auto tuner?
- Dealer said I'll lose HP by staying with stock AC. Is the consensus the stock AC with clean filter flows enough for stage 1?
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I haven't had much time to ride, rode it about 5 hours Sunday and a couple yesterday. Love it so far! It's a huge upgrade over the Heritage I came off of.
Consider a new AC - too many choices for sure!
At that point, you will need a tune so better to spend the funds on a tuner you can later adjust if necessary.
Too many choices and options so you may need to read a bit on tuners.

A/C, more air, tuned, more horsepower and torque, more exhaust, has to balance out to achieve the results you are looking for.
There are 4 things you need for a complete Stage 1, ( at least in my mind).
1 Mufflers
2 Cat less Header pipe
3 High Flow Air Cleaner
4 Tuner
And the order is arbitrary, but all 4 are necessary.
Doing the work yourself will save you enough money to buy a Tuner. There are 3 manuals to buy if you will be working on the bike, Service Manual, Electrical Diagnostic manual and Parts Catalog.
In years past I ran a TTS tuner on 2 bikes, Thundermax Tuner on 5 bikes and now I have the DynoJet Power Vision on two bikes, a 14 and 15 Limited. All the bikes had a Stage 1 and I won't put down any tuner, but I will recommend the PV2. It is simple to install, load maps to ECM and to Auto Tune. Our bikes run great and our mpg averages between 45 and 50.
Enjoy the new bike and let us know what you end up doing.
Good Luck!

Those numbers look great Batwing Bob! I hear these bikes really wake up with a stage 1.
