Thinking about nabbing a 12" or 14" windshield but having a hard time finding any examples.
If you've got one on your batwing rushmore would you snap a pic for me?
I was/am thinking about getting a tall, wide one to try out. I would have to look through it, not over it. My brother looked through his windshield so I guess it is possible. Wouldn't look as cool as a short one but I'd use it on trips only, probably.
I put a genuine HD Windsplitter windshield on my SGS, the 10" model. The reverse "flip" at the top is great, making if work like a much taller one, but Im able to easily see over it (I'm 6-0"). The only complaint I had was at the area where the reverse curve is near the top was badly distorted from the factory. I know you're not supposed to look through this type of wind shield, but there are many time when you need to like slow riding to avoid things in the road immediately ahead. I stopped by 7-JuRock in Santa Fe Springs, CA and saw they make an identical one as the wind splitter but NO distortion at all. They even have it available in smoke tint, Harley only makes this model in clear. The height is perfect for freeway speeds and the tint looks great, but a little dark if you ride much at night. I don't ride after dark. They sell for like $100, and Im very satisfied. Picture in my signature is that wind shield on my bike.
Thanks for the input so far. Good find there in 7JuRock, their prices are excellent. Unfortunately they don't do them tall and dark and I like mine pretty dark.
I'm 6'4" and that's more torso than legs so seeing over isn't an issue. I currently have a 10" recurve and I'm still getting blasted in the head but I guess I'm still young enough to care if going taller looks dumb.
Freedom shield for the gf.... The HD wind splitter was very distorted trying to look thru it, plus it did not help the gf with buffeting, the Freedom shield did the trick for trips with her on the back, when it is just me I put my shorter shield on.
