So I am going to make the change to the quick release. I will be ordering the rack and docking hardware in a day or two, other tan these two items I am thinking I need something for the license plate/ different antenna mount? and quick release harness? rear signals in the back anything else? Thanks guys.
While you are at it . . . I'd recommend installing a LED taillight from HD and Filerz from Custom Dynamics. Really lights you up . . . I noticed that folks stayed 100 yards back on the freeway after I installed the CD Filerz . . . very bright. License plate mount is the same, you'll also install new antenna mounts as well - very simple to do. I also purchased the saddle bag LED lights that act as turn/brake as well - simple and well worth it for getting folks to notice you. The now empty antenna mounts on my Tour Pack are ugly, I'd like to find some way to hide those . . .
Plate mount will be fine.
Have to add an antenna mount, at least the am/fm side.
Check it may be included in the docking hardware. Mine was.
Not sure what marks talking about with the empty antenna mounts in tourpac.
You're just adding 1 or 2 mounts to the bike to be able to unthread your tourpac antennas and relocate them to the new mounts. Or buy some shorties for the new mounts (looks better)

...
You are right . . . not thinking . . . its the empty antenna mounts between the fender and saddlebag when the TP is mounted. I find them ugly, but thats the way its set up . . .
Thanks guys keep the info coming, is there anywhere you can recommend getting the antenna relocation & license plate relocation stuff other than har$$ley
If you need everything, I'd just order the entire HD detach kit. It has all of the mounts, saddle bag lights, antenna relocate, and tag mount.
You will need something for the tag. The stock tag mount is on the tour pak and you'll lose it. i also recommend additional rear lighting. You lose one half of your rear lights with the TP off. I have the saddle bag lights, but the CD filler lights work well too.
When I did the TP detach, I added a J&M hidden antenna in the fairing so antennas weren't an issue. Also, be very careful how you route the TP wire bundles. If they rub on the rear fender, it'll damage the paint.
Thanks but I don't want to drop $600+ looking to do it for less I can get the quick detach and docking for about $110 so need the other few items and need to see were I can find them.
