Default OilBud oil cooler

I was at a bike fest yesterday and saw this product and wondering has anyone used it and their input in hot weather areas.

They claim 35 degree cooler in stop & go traffic, which is a lot where I live.

I run a Jagg Cooler. I looked at the Oil Bud Coolers when I was looking for a cooler. But at $600 bucks I couldn't see the benefit for the extra $.

I also wonder how they limit jacking points and also how much more work the oil pump has to do to move oil that far. I find their adapter is quite hideous looking.

My bike with the Jagg rarely if ever goes above 200 deg. And is compact, very clean looking and cost about 30% less.

YMMV.

Love Jugs is around $400 and there is another product (Jagg) similar to this product however they use cheaper material comparing to this product however cost is very similar. I can see why this product is a bit more than others out there. Billet air craft aluminum T6061 and braided lines, not only light weight but strong. Only thing lack is fans to go along with it and I bet this product is one of the best cooling system out there.

Jagg product is engineered with right idea using cooling fan but they can add braided lines to make the looks and durability.

I will keep searching for better product, summer is creeping up.....yikes!!!!

I wasn't interested in a fan. I also wasn't concerned with their hoses.

I did want welded in -6 fittings, and the adapter with a thermostat.

I made my own lines and enlarged the ports on the adapter from 1/8" pipe to 1/4" pipe.

I see why you are not interested in a fan to go along with your cooler.....San Jose is no where near as hot as her in AZ so I will take the fan to help cool my engine....and I rather that they include braided lines but for few more $$ I am sure I can find them so that means the price will get close to OilBud so all these oil coolers except for HD system are about the same price (give or take few dollars) when I am done with it.

Your setup is pretty nice

I use an Oil Bud, it does not limit jacking points in the least, it is between the frame rails, so unless you use a bottle jack on the engine or trans to jack you'll be fine there. I have used an Oil Bud on several bikes in the south, and for 3 years in extreme stop and go in DC and now in Hawaii and all I can say, is it works, it is bulletproof, sleek, and quite simply worth every damn penny. And by the way you can get the adapter in multiple finishes, so choose what best suits your bike.

On the Ultra Cool web site, I see they have these available for a '15 Ultra Limited. I'm not overly interested in one but curious how these would mount on a Limited.

Take in mind that there is not an oil cooler that is going to keep your engine cooler - rather, it's keeps the oil cooler. The engine is somewhere around 90% air cooled. Oil temps will follow engine temp.

If you want the best of both worlds, cooler engine, and cooler oil, run a head fan like Wards, Nenale, or even that copy cat company love jugs who stole Wards design.
