Well the OP title was "Rushmore handlebars suck" They don't for me and obviously they don't suck for a lot of other people either. Some like em, some don't. I'm quite sure if we were all the same size Harley would get it right and come up with something that's comfortable to all....then again probably not. imho

Aloha.....Mike

At 6'2 I've always had to change bars for the wrist angle and relieve the pinched nerve feeling between the shoulder blades. I've always found having my hands just below shoulder height with a neutral wrist angle as the most comfortable.

Surprisingly, I like the stock bars on my 17. Had plans on changing them immediately, but after some adjustments I've found them fairly comfortable.

I wish it were that simple. Sitting on it in the showroom just doesn't compare to 5 hours later down the highway. At least not for me.

I found that stock wasn't for me so I ended up with some Yaffe bars. Much more comfortable now.

For those of you that like the bars, I am happy for you. The angle is so bad for me that I couldn't imagine anybody liking them. However, I have talked to other owners in my area who like them a lot. They were all of shorter stature. I am 6' 5" tall.

For me the bars are not a problem on short day rides. The problem really gets bad when I go on long trips, riding day after day. Throw in a traffic jam where I am constantly on the clutch and brake and it becomes unbearable.

I did end up changing the bars to a Chizzled Lo by HD. The bars look good and feel great. I did this with a buddy (needed to help hold controls when taking off and installing). In spite of quotes from dealers that ranged from $800 to 8.5 hours just for installation, it took us about 1.5 hours. I followed the video by Road 6 Customs and everything worked out well.

The new TBW connector makes pin removal unnecessary. However the HD bars have a restriction at the top bend that caused a little delay. I finally just taped the TBW connector along side the bare wires instead of the cable bundles when feeding them through the bars and that solved the problem.
