looking to replace handlebars for 08 electra glide . Has anyone heard of a handlebar fitment jig that allows you to sit on a bike mock up that allows you to try different handlebars on the mock bike to see which bars fit you the best before you buy ?
I have heard of this and local dealer used to do this but they no longer have it set up. It looks like it is the old trial and error thing to get the right bars. It took me 2 tries to find the perfect bars for me.
Just wandering what bars you went with. I am looking at klock werks back bars ,I'm 6' 6" and with my stock bars i have to reach down which is not real comfortable. Going to install these myself and hope to use the stock clutch and brake line. Thanks for the post.
When I need to size my next bars, I get on a strait road, lock the throttle, close my eyes and put my hands out to where i would like them to be. When I open my eyes (making sure I'm not in trouble) I visualize what kind of bars would do the job.
Been there done that, thats been the best option i've tryed.just thinking there would be a system for some hands on testing other than finding someone elses bike with handlebar upgrades to try.I guess if it takes 2 or 3 trys to get the right bars it keeps the $$$ going to the dealers, I would rather spend those $$ on other goodies !!!
i used ergo up but prob could have used the back had to adj them all the way back to get the right feel i have a sundowner seat and it moved me back and down alittle .im 6-1 with a32 inseam
thanks I'm going with the back bars. I emailed klock werks and they said it was an easy install so once they come in from back order i'll see how easy it is then i'll post how it went for me .
