In the last year I have had to get 2 new iPhone 6s. They were having issues with the batteries. I broke down and got a new 7. 2 weeks later this one is acting up. I wonder if it's getting "cooked" in that little charging slot. I have it plugged in the whole time I ride to listen to music. Anyone else having any issues? Riding is the only thing I can think I do different than the average person
My phone sits in a Ram X mount on the handle bars. A power cord connects to the power port on the lower right of the fairing. I blue tooth my music to the Boom. Works great.
You could also place it in the tour pack, keep it plugged into the power port and still Bluetooth your music.
I have my 6s plugged in occasionally in that slot and never had any issues. Same thing when i use my TP on long rides, it plugged in the charger and no issues.

+111111111 Exactly Ram mount stream and charge at the same time, when I'm done streaming Sirius XM takes over. BTW I also keep Waze running for those Police reported ahead and all other road warnings.
I've been using my iPhone 6 in the fairing pocket for over 2 years and nearly 28000 miles now. It's been in there in temperatures from the upper 20s to 100+. No issues whatsoever.

Can you please elaborate on "acting up"?
My experience with iPhones, (which I love): They shut off when they get really hot from temps & sun. It's a built in feature. Mine shut off sitting in a plastic tank map bag on hot days. On the other side, when snowmobiling, the screen starts to get red bands and pixelate in the cold. I keep mine in my pocket all the time now and it works fine. Bluetooth your phone to the bike.
