Ran in to a problem today. Installed heated grips on my wifes 16 Triglide. Got done and everything works but noticed the fog light switch on the dash would not keep the fogs on unless you hold it in. The green indicator on the button, same thing. If I hold the button in the fogs and the indicator stay on but as soon as I release it the fogs and the indicator go off, and it is on low beam. So I went over to my 14 Ltd, same thing. It's like the switches are not latching. What am I missing? Any help will be appreciated.

I don't think it's anything related to the heated grips install. Those switches are cheap Chinese junk. I had to have mine replaced when the bike was 2 years old. Now, I just leave the lights on and I don't touch the switch for fear it will fail again. You could try spraying some contact cleaner in them if you can get the cleaner into the switch mechanism.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was afraid of that. Just to verify since I rarely use this switch, when you push the button in is it supposed to stay in? On both of these when you push the button in it comes back out always.

Yes, it should stay indexed in/down. There is a little metal latch on the bottom of the switch pack that locks the switch in place. Check and make sure it is locked. It is in the service manual.

Thanks again for the help. I will pull the switch out the bottom and see if I can get them to latch again by cleaning, etc...
You'd think out of two that one would work. Not sure why they even need them to ever be disabled anyway.

My switch pack went bad and kept blowing the p & a fuse every time I turned the ignition on. Ending up buying the switch pack which comes with the button. Easy install.
