The indicator lamp (that's built into the switch) on my auxiliary lamp switch works intermittently on my 08 Ultra. I plan on digging into it tomorrow and try some electrical contact cleaner on the switch to see if that fixes it. What I'm wondering is if anyone else has had this problem and maybe have any other ideas on fixing it other than what I'm planning?

Reason: Clarification
Are you sure the spots are on when the switch isn't lit? I recently had that trouble, and it turned out to be the connector on the throttle side up under the bottom of the fairing not making a good connection.
Thanks for your reply. Yes, the spots work fine going on and off with the switch as they should, it's just the indicator light in the switch itself that's intermittent.
Well I pulled the switch panel and unplugged it from the harness. Then I pulled the switch from the panel, hooked leads directly to it and a 12V power source to rule out a bad ground. The lamp would light intermittently when I flicked the switch with my finger. I then opened up the switch housing and saw that it has a small regular incandescent bulb in it. I figured the filament was broken and would make contact occasionally when I flicked it with my finger which makes sense why it would only light once and a while. I went and tried to find some white 12V 5mm LED's today, but this being Montana with limited electronics stores I wasn't able to find any, so I ordered some of these off ebay and should have them in a few days. http://www.ebay.com/itm/261817014106 I'll give them a shot when they get here. Some may asked why I don't just buy a new switch from moco, well at about $35 each I'd figure I'd try to fix it first. Here's a photo that shows the inside of the switch (minus the innards) except for the lamp in the upper right hand corner, the leads for the lamp come off the two copper contacts on the right hand side. Once I receive the LED's and get them installed I'll be sure to update this thread to let everyone know how things turned out.
If anyone else is having issues with bulb in this particular switch and don't want to try to replace it, here's the part number for a new switch (this is for an 08 Ultra).
71505-96 SWITCH, LAMP, W/ REF # 35 Price $36.99
The part of the particular one I'm working on is #31 in the drawing on the four switch harness (top one).
Here's the follow up to my thread, I got the LED's today and got it installed. Here's some photos of the install, the first one is testing it after I got it soldered inside the switch. As you'll see the light looks good and is equal in brightness to the others. Time well tell on how well my repair holds up.
This photo is after I got the switch reassembled and testing it
This ones with everything put back on the bike.
As you can see it's Spot On (sorry I couldn't help it).
