Default CoolFlow Fan

Anyone running the CoolFlow Fan on their 14 - 17 bikes ? HD part number 26800152. Is it worth it? Does it make a lot of noise? Pros and cons?

Installed on my '14 FLHTK this winter. No ride experience yet. Waiting for salt & ice/snow to disappear. Buddy installed it on his K model based on my recommendation & he's used it. Says it works great. It's a manual on/off on my bike but I think I'll be able to figure when to use it & when to shut it off.

I started with pic 5. Installed pic 2 behind pic 1. The second one is installed in the horn cover. That cools the intake. The other one takes the header heat and blows it out the back.
Very noticable on hot days. Work great

i have one, it works pretty well, and it's really quiet, you can hardly hear it even with everything else off.

Does it turn on and off automatic at a certain speed or do you have to turn it on and off manually? If you can turn it off and on manually when you want, I wonder is you can wire in an accessory switch in the stock switch bank with an AUX switch?

I first noticed this fan pop up on H-D.com when it came out. I really REALLY want one on my Ultra. But I have issues with the install.
First, it utilizes the same plug as my motolights.
Second, I believe it installs where my alloy-art stabilizer lives.
Neither of these are coming off, so.... not for me, I guess.

I had the same problem. The plug was already in use and the bassani exhaust would hit it. Both are also staying.
But I needed to cool it better on hot days.
So I had to improvise.

On the 17-19 touring bikes it works as listed below. Older models might be a manual on or off switch.

The fan can be switched to Off/On/Auto operation.
  1. ON setting;
    1. The fan runs at speeds below 64 km/h (40 mph).
    2. Fan will stop running at speeds above 64 km/h (40 mph).
    3. As speed lowers, the fan turns back on at 56 km/h (35 mph). This gap prevents the fan from cycling on and off during low speed changes.
  2. AUTO setting: The fan operates based on a combination of vehicle speed, engine temperature and ambient air temperature.
    1. Vehicles with Ambient Air Sensors
      1. The fan runs at speeds below 64 km/h (40 mph) when the engine temperature is above 95 °C (203 °F) and ambient air temperature is above 15 °C (59 °F).
      2. The fan runs at speeds below 64 km/h (40 mph) when the engine temperature is above 215 °C (419 °F) and ambient air temperature is below 15 °C (59 °F).
      3. Fan turns off if vehicle speed exceeds 72 km/h (45 mph) or if engine temperature goes below this temperature 202 °C (395 °F).
    1. Vehicles without Ambient Air Sensors
      1. The fan runs at speeds below 64 km/h (40 mph) when the engine temperature is above 95 °C (203 °F).
      2. Fan turns off if vehicle speed exceeds 72 km/h (45 mph) of if engine temperature goes below this temperature 82 °C (179 °F).
