I have had good service out of stock HD battery but got an Interstate a few years ago on a Sunday and it worked well. I believe it lasted about 5 years. That seems to be the expected life span of a battery. I use a battery tender for winter storage or when the bike wont be ridden for a few weeks. There are a lot of parasitic draws in ecm, clock, security system.
Congrats on buying such a low mileage bike . I would think you have a lot of good years left in that bike.
Modern Harleys in the last few years have very low milliamp parasitic draws. Even Security. Half what they did 10 years ago. But they still need a tender
Just picked up a Yuasa GYZ32HL AGM battery for $128.88 from Revzilla. They price matched Chapparal Motorsports. I've had good luck with the brand in the past and spec's exceed factory. Keep an eye on the classifieds, once you know what pipes you want...
I just bought a brand new Harley AGM battery if I had to do over I think I would go with the lithium battery.
My intentions are after this AGM battery I'm going with lithium.
You go with lithium keep in mind you need the proper battery tender but I noticed they have dual Chargers/tenders that will do both.
I picked up a small AGM battery charger/tender from Advanced Auto Parts for about $40 with a 25% coupon and it works great. My AGM battery was low - it charged it over night and then switched to tender. I also use it to charge/tender my car and tractor batteries. Don't remember what it's called but it's mostly green. Highly recommend for the price.
