Default EITMS & Cooling Fans

Hey folks, saw this question on a Harley Ultra Limited forum & no one gave a clear answer. If you have the updated water pump or even the original OEM pump, if you have EITMS Disabled,
do the fans still kick on when they are supposed to? I have the updated pump, I have EITMS Disabled, & I never hear the fans come on. I have tested them & I know they work. Just curious to the EITMS setting & it's effects.

Thanks,

Disclaimer: I don't know for sure...

Cooling fans should be on a separate activating system. Based on coolant temps not the EITMS. It would defeat the purpose of having fans if they do not help cool down the coolant. They are there for that purpose & that purpose only. Just as a fan activates on a car when the temps require it.

Unless the coolant temp reaches the fan "on" threshold, the fan won't come on.

Under normal riding conditions, the fans will rarely (if ever) come on.

The only time my fans ever come on is if I get stuck in a long line of traffic.
Just sitting at a normal red light cycle isn't long enough for it to get hot enough to kick them on.

I purposely let it sit and idle in front of my garage, just to see when the fans kicked on.
They did, but it took longer than I thought it would.

From page C.2 in the 2015 service manual:

Table C-3 Coolant Temperatures
Thermostat initially opens: 165°F
Thermostat fully open: 190°F
Engine Temperature lamp: 266°F
Antifreeze protection: -34°F

Table C-4 Fan Operation
On (below 15 mph): 221°F
Off (below 15 mph): 203°F
On (above 15 mph): 244°F
Off (above 15 mph): 230°F

Thanks everyone. I kinda thought this was the case, but having seen the question proposed before & got me curious.

I also have it disabled on my 2014 FLHTK and the fans do come on but as others have said, it takes longer than expected.

Thanks,
Yes I have always kept the EITMS disabled. My fans come on a lot in the summer months. Two entirely different things from each other just both designed to control and reduce heat.

Thanks,
Yes, the fans are for engine cooling.

EITMS is solely for rider comfort

Yes, I know what the fans are for & what the EITMS for. That wasn't the subject of my question.
