I cant believe Im here asking for help with this, but here I am. Im trying to install the H-D combo analog speedo/tach on my 2020 Road King Special. I installed one of these on my 2018 Road King and dont remember having any trouble.
When I plugged it in where the factory speedometer plugs in, it gave me a NO CAL readout on the LCD. A quick look through the instructions says it needs plugged into the 4 way connector on the bike (data port) using the harness thats included. Okay, fine. But I cant find that anywhere. Ive looked under both side covers and under the seat.
Im pretty sure this was supposed to be a plug and play, as others have indicated on the Facebook groups.
Could the PV tune be causing any issues?? How do I fix this?
Ive had similar on my 2021 RK that Ive traded (dont remember part no). It was plug and play - just unplug old one, plug in new and thats it. It transferred data w/o any effort from me and got married to the bike after 30 or 40 miles.
oh and mine didnt come with any transfer cables.
Okay, new problem popped up today. My bike does not have RDRS. The T/C light illuminated in amber on the gauge today while cruising around normally. No codes come back in the diagnostic mode. Suggestions??
The instructions say bikes equipped with RDRS and ABS will require a dealer flash. I have ABS but not RDRS.
