Default Saddlemen Road Sofa Dimensions

On my 2014 Road King that I recently acquired, the stock seat pushes me too far forward and I find it extremely uncomfortable. I want to replace it with a Saddlemen Road Sofa but not sure if I should get the standard reach or the extended reach. Everything I read on the internet only tells me the dimensions of the seats themselves, but doesn't say how far they overlap the rear of the tank.

Can anyone who has a Road Sofa seat please tell me if it is a regular or extended reach, and the measurement from, say the centre of the ignition switch, to the vertical part of the seat where your tailbone sits. On my stock seat this measurement is 23".

Revilla states: "Extended Reach design extends the driver's seating area 2" from the stock seating position." I interpret that to mean 2" further away from the handlebars.

Surprisingly, Saddlemen's own website doesn't mention the seating position, at least that I could find. You can email Saddlemen at: sales@saddlemen.com

Thank you Plow64. What I'm hoping for is to find the actual set back measurements from a fixed point on the tank, for both the regular reach and extended reach Road Sofa. e.g. distance from the centre of the ignition switch to the vertical part of the seat where your tailbone sits (as per the photo).

I don't know if it will help, but it might. This is for the extended reach. I had one, but don't anymore. I can say that the difference was pretty much spot on what they said it would be.

Thank you Black Ultra. I'm still hoping someone can provide me with the setback dimension for the regular reach and the extended reach road sofa, from the centre of the ignition switch to the vertical part of the seat where your tailbone sits (as per the photo in my original post).
I need this to determine which version of this seat I should order.

So if you add the "B" dimension (17.5") to 8" (tip of the seat to middle of ignition) = 25.5" for the extended reach road sofa...gives you one of the seat dims you were looking for...no?

My bike is a RG so I don't have the ignition switch on the console. I have the Road Sofa Extended Reach seat. I, 6' 230 lbs with a 33 inch inseam. The seat and riding position is miles better than the stock one. However, I did need to install to bars as I was too far from the stock ones. I went with KST 14 in Pathfinders rotated back slightly. I measured mine from the edge of the gas tank cover lip which would be about the same as your speedo bottom lip. 27 inches. (pic is slightly distorted). Hope this helps.

Thank you RevBlk. This answers my question. From your photo it looks like this seat overlaps the back of the tank by about 2-1/2".

If you get a road sofa don’t give up on it because it’s uncomfortable. These seats take a long time to break in.
