Empire Floorboards, anybody have them? Thoughts? It looks like they don't have the anti vibration floating thing going on (am I correct) do you feel any more vibration? How's the comfort? I like the width at the front.
I have them. I like them. As for vibrations, they seem to be about the same as stock, but the rubber parts are fixed in place, not floating. Mine are chrome and the finish is good. They fit well and feel really solid when riding. The only thing I did was add a small spacer to one of the hinge bolts so I could put a bit of friction on the hinge action so it wouldn't rattle. The space between the bosses for the floor board brackets is a bit over generous and you can't tighten the bolts enough to put any drag on the hinge without breaking the bolts. A simple machine washer on one bolt on each front board fixes it nicely. Doesn't take much, maybe .020" to .030".
Just added the collection to my 24. I like the length of the boards as they provide more length which gives more space for positioning. I feel no difference in vibration between these and the floating style boards.
I also added the 3/4" spacers which give more room as well.
