On my 14 SGS my left thumb control lever button (left and right next song) stopped working (maybe after the last update) when my iPhone 5 is plugged in or if a USB flash drive is plugged in with music on it. It does work on the iPhone if it is not plugged in and playing music over Bluetooth. The left and right functions seems to work with all other functions as well. Anyone had this problem as well it seams like a software issue to me?
I had that same issue with my SG. I have the 4.3 unit. It worked fine at first then later lost the abilitybto skip froward or back. Strange thing is when i took it the dealer, the music was playing fine. When the tech came out to check it, it didn't come on at all. Next day I recieved a call that they had replaced the unit and all is well now. We'll see when I pick it up tomorrow.
I have a 2014 Ultra classic and radio has been making a popping sound since i picked it up. Corrosion in anteana near tour pack but had dealer install internal one and problem is still there. Only happens when radio is on and all good with ipod hooked up. Dealer has tried updates and a couple other things but problem is still there. anyone have any luck yet getting it fixed?
Had my connections checked and replaced antenna wire. No help. Went to another dealer. He told me there were a lot of complaints about popping etc. Told me upfront, there was no fix. HD knew about it and was working on it. I asked what he suggested. He said to check back in a month.
I was told the same thing. Installed internal antenna but problem still there. Any luck yet with yours?
I was going to purchase a 14 SGS next week and was doing research on any problems with the new SGS when I found this thread. After reading all 21 pages I have decided to hold off and wait until all these infotainment issues are fixed. What really got me was 21 pages and not ONE comment from anyone with one of these 2014 units stating that their bike has none of these problems. Which makes me believe that every single one of these new models has at least one of the problems listed throughout this thread. So for now I will just hold off for awhile and see if eventually HD fixes the problems before plunking down my hard earned cash for one of these beta models. Again not one person has come on this thread and posted that they have no problems of any kind with the infotainment unit on their new bike, that's pretty sad.

I have a 2014 FLSTCU and my radio makes the popping noise when listening to the radio as well. This was noted on some threads when these bikes first came out last year on the hd forum.
I am not sure what the cause of the popping of the radio, but mentioned it to my dealer when I first bought my Ultra. They told me to try several things, but nothing corrected the problem.
I am not sure if Harley knows what is causing this problem?

I'm actually happy with the Infotainment system on my 2014 Limited.
After doing the software update, switching to shorty antennas (now have J&M hidden antennas) and reading the directions and turning off the WB and CB when not using them, the crackling I was having on FM is gone.
The GPS is as good as any in-vehicle system out there. I understand that some familiar with the stand alone Garmin units are unhappy with the number of waypoints. I never used the Garmin so I can't comment. The voice activation and phone work amazingly well at speed on a motorcycle with an open helmet using the included wired headset. Don't get me going on those expecting Bluetooth helmet connections (not happening with current Bluetooth technology). The handlebar controls work so well I haven't touched the screen since a week after I got it.
I Bluetooth paired to my iPhone 5 and use the telephone and streaming music functions all the time. Having the phone compartment with USB is great since my phone doesn't go dead anymore on a long ride. The design of the USB wiring is a little cramped with the iPhone. I wish the auto reply text worked with the iPhone but that is more Apple than Harley there.
At the recent NYC motorcycle show, I looked very closely at the other motorcycle manufacturer's infotainment systems and NOTHING came close to the 2014 Harley system.
For those waiting for something better, I'm not sure what you're waiting for.
