Ok I've been off the forum for awhile because of the negativity and not riding my Harley (I spend the winter in Florida and I have a jap bike just for bumming around the island) but I decided to come back and see whats new. I've had my bike since Aug the first week they came out. I had the popping in the radio on FM and I turned my VOX off or low and it went away. I dont use an intercom so I dont need VOX. I dont have the problem with the AVC. I have the AVC set at 4 bars and when I start out it gets louder, and when I slow it gets softer but it takes a few seconds. Sometimes when I stop for a stoplight its still a bit loud and cars are looking at me funny, but then after a few seconds it goes down. I dont know what to tell you guys that are having problems with the AVC. I did read months back that some dealers were swapping out the radios for guys that were having problems with it. I was hoping that the new software update might help you. Other than that my Infotainment center is good. I've played with it and actually ended up showing my dealer how some things worked early on. It does everything I need it to do. Could it be better, sure. Could it be easier, sure.

Did you turn off the VOX using the buttons by the passenger seat or do you do it internally through the system?
We have a Nissan Sentra that has AVC and even though its a car with much less noise due to speed changes the volume change from stop to various speeds is MUCH more on medium setting. The AVC on the 14's is broke, not working, worthless, could do a better job with a lever levitating in the wind.
IT NEEDS to be fixed. Please call customer service if you have this problem
so it gets FIXED. Thanks for putting up with my rant.............
Have a great weekend.....

I agree 100% it simply doesn't work on my bike. I don't cate if it works a little bit I really want it to do what it was intended to do. Your rant is OK but why the "have a good weekend" You calling in sick on Friday?

Forecast for Friday, Sunshine/67 degrees - first in 2 weeks - leave slip - must take the physiatrist out for a ride.
I had 2 other Ultra Classics ('02 & '09) and I never had to adjust the AVC. It just worked flawlessly. As far as the AVC on the '14 it stinks. I've tried adjusting the AVC setting and that improved it slightly. I've worn the same 1/2 helmet and all 3 bikes had stock exhaust & air filters so there was no increase in noise. There is no reason that even with the AVC set to the maximum 4 bar setting that I should need to manually raise the volume after achieving a cruising speed and the have to lower it when coming to a stop.
Figured out how to enable text messaging so it will do the auto-reply on iPhones... on your phone, you need to go to Settings -> Bluetooth -> H-D Radio and enable the "Show Notifications".
Once I did that, it worked fine.
Thank You. I ve been trying for a week to get the message to work
Got my 2014 Street Glide Standard today. (4.3 Boom Box). I'm having similar issues to others who have posted here. I have an iPhone 5 on Verizon.
* Music seems to play fine from the iPhone. I was a little disappointed to find that you can only get the full functionality of the "find" menu (i.e. search by song, artist, album, etc.) when it's connected via USB. When it's only connected through Bluetooth you can't access the full "find" menu? Does this sound correct?
* Having issues with receiving text messages. First, I got the error that said it couldn't sync my inbox. Then I deleted a bunch of messages off my phone to reduce the load and the sync worked. However, it's still "hit and miss" receiving texts. When I had the ignition switched to accessory only I got the audio notification and text message icon to show up on the screen. I navigate: Home > Com > iphone > messages, and the new text is in my inbox. I click on it and I can both read it and the Text-to-speech reads it to me through the speakers. My hope was that this would be the case when also riding. I started the engine and let it idle in neutral and had my brother text me.......didn't get anything. Is this the way it's supposed to work? If so, that would seem to defeat the purpose (i.e. if you have to be stopped to read/hear your new message). I would think the way it is supposed to work is that it would NOT display the actual text when riding (for safety issues), but it would still do the text-to-speech. Does anyone know how this is supposed to work?

This is normal Bluetooth behavior; it offers only the most basic of music playback functions.
When hooked up via USB, you have full Apple iPod control of your iPhone music. This offers a complete suite of music playback control including album art, search by artist, album, song etc.
